Using our top-of-the-line technology and equipment, we can create dental implants to fit perfectly in your mouth and fill those voids where teeth used to be.

Why choose implants? Well, before implants came along, individuals with missing teeth had to wear dentures or bridges, which simply sit in the mouth. These devices can move around, stick to food, and even fall out since they are not permanently connected to the gums and jaw. Implants, however, are fused to the patient’s jawbone to ensure they do not budge. Once they are in, it’s virtually impossible to tell they are not original. As a matter of fact, it won’t take long at all for you to forget they are implants as well!

At South Charlotte Dentistry, we recommend two types of implants: Endosteal and Subperlosteal. Over the years, we have found these to be the safest and most durable implants to use. So which one should you use? Well, it’s best to come in for a consultation before any decision is made, but let’s go ahead and take a closer look at both types of implants.

·         Endosteal: After the tooth is pulled, screws and cylinder portions are surgically implanted into the gums and jaw. Then, once the gum tissue has had enough time to heal and fuse together with the implants, the artificial teeth are attached.

·         Subperlosteal: This is a similar process, only there is a metal frame fitted to the bottom of the gums, right where the jawbone meets. Screws and posts are then attached to this metal frame. Then the artificial teeth are mounted as the gums heal and fuse to the implant.

Both implants work well, but it is necessary to have a professional help decide on the best one for you.

So if you are missing teeth and are tired of hiding your smile, come in and see us at South Charlotte Dentistry today. We’re just a phone call away!
